Accessibility Statement
bloodless.org is committed to ensuring that our Medical Directive preparation tool is accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. Health-related services must be usable by all — especially in urgent or emergency situations.
Our Commitment
We are working to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standard. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we are continuously improving the experience for all users.
Standard
We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance. This standard covers a wide range of recommendations for making web content more accessible to people with visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive disabilities.
Measures We Take
- Semantic HTML structure for screen reader compatibility
- Keyboard-navigable interface throughout the application
- Sufficient color contrast ratios for text and interactive elements
- Descriptive labels on form fields, buttons, and interactive controls
- Responsive design that works across screen sizes and zoom levels
- Reduced motion support for users who prefer minimal animation
Emergency Access View
The Emergency Card — used by medical professionals to access a patient's directive via QR code — receives special attention. This view must function reliably with assistive technology in time-sensitive medical situations.
Known Limitations
We are aware that some areas of the application may not yet meet Level AA in full. We are actively auditing and addressing gaps. If you encounter a barrier, please let us know.
Feedback
If you experience an accessibility barrier or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us. We take all accessibility feedback seriously and will respond within 5 business days.
